Above all he uncovers a peonage contract involving his great-grandfather, Charlie Calloway, and his great-grandmother Mary, who were forced to sign over their young children to Mr. William Eberhart. These contracts revealed the harsh realities faced by Blacks in Georgia, documenting names, ages, types of work, and more.
